We market our range of very high quality refuels recognized throughout the world under the name GRAFITEX.
Refuels are carbonaceous products, mainly used as additives to correct and regulate the carbon content in gray cast iron, ductile cast iron or liquid steel.
There are various types which differ in chemical analysis, with particular attention to the content of carbon, sulphur, nitrogen and ash, or in the shape and size of the grains.
The raw material, which can be either petroleum coke, a carbonaceous by-product of the petroleum refining process or anthracite, a naturally occurring coal, is "cooked" in a calcination furnace at average temperatures of 1400 °C or in a graphitization oven at higher temperatures, between 2400° and 3000° degrees.
This results in a calcined or graphitized product with various applications in the steel, aluminum, brake or lubricants or chemical sectors.
